Getting Back on Track

Earlier this month I was sick for about 2 weeks. During that time I was unable to continue with my 100 push up challenge. It is time to get back on track. I am going to redo week 3 and then continue with the program from there. I am excited to get back to the workout since it really was making me stronger. I think I would have done it sooner if week 3 hadn't been so hard the first time around. I can only imagine with 3 weeks off it is really going to suck.

Keep Swimming

Ok this is what I have to remember during the week 3 training of the 100 Push Up challenge. Completed day 2 last night and it was very tough. I have a feeling I will need to repeat this week.

The good news is I do feel stronger and am absolutely able to do more push ups so the program is working. I will follow Dory's advice and "just keep swimming... just keep swimming..."

I Must Be Doing Something Right

Today I start week 3 of the 100 push up challenge. I have switched the time of day that I do the push ups. I was doing them in the early afternoon when I got to work or in the morning. I am now doing them at the end of the day before bed. For some reason I perform much better at this time. I struggled less to complete the workouts. I'm not sure why this is (I was thinking maybe the beer with dinner was giving me strength) but I am sticking with it.
I completed the exhaustion test with 26 so I am maintaining level 3. Sometimes I wish I would look at the requirement levels before I do this since I keep barely making level 3. In looking at the upcoming workout I am pretty intimidated with just the day 1 workout. The sets have increased greatly and will definitely provide a challenge from the start.

Hey Mom Look - No Muscles!

So I just finished Day 1 of Week 2 of the One Hundred Push Ups program. So far what I have learned (or confirmed) is that I have scrawny arms. I find that even though the number of push ups done in each set seems small it is quite challenging to complete all 5 sets. I also have some other friends doing the program. We all started at different levels and they are all being equally challenged. One of the nice features of the program are the check ups along the way. At the end of this week I will perform another exhaustion test (doesn't that sound fun) and that will tell me what the appropriate level will be for the following week. There will also be checks in the future to see how my progress is and to let me know if I need to repeat a week. So far I am really enjoying this program. Now if I could just find those muscles that are hiding...
