Image by Getty Images via @daylifeIn Tennessee they are trying to pass a law that would ban elementary and middle schools from discussing homosexuality. The bill has become known as the "don't say gay" bill. The law would mandate that before ninth grade, teachers not "provide any instruction or material that discusses sexual orientation other than heterosexuality."
Today, George Takei who played Mr. Sulu on Star Trek, and is openly gay, is offering to help teachers and students if this law does go through. Check out the video.
I don't know about you but it seems to me that Mr. Sulu is firing the photon torpedoes at the Tennessee lawmakers. I hope they don't have their shields up.
Utah state senator Chris Buttars has been chosen as my pick for Moron of the Week. Buttars made his comments for an upcoming documentary on Prop. 8. In this interview he refers to the "radical gay movement" as
"They're probably the greatest threat to America going down I know of."
